An old man lived in the country with his old wife. 'They had no sons or daughters. They never usually went to town.

One day the old man wanted to go to town. He said lo his wife, 'Darling, I need some new clothes. 1 need to go to town.'

“Can I go with you？” she asked. “No. The town is a bad place. I'll go alone.” So his wife stayed at home.

When he arrived in the town, the old man walked around with his eyes wide open. It was his first visit. Everything was new and strange. He went into a big building. An old woman came and stood beside him. She started looking at the metal door, too.Suddenly the door opened and she walked through the door. The door shut （关上了）. There was a noise of machinery（机器），and lights appeared behind the numbers. 1,2,3,4... 9,10.9,8.7,…3,2，1，F.

Suddenly the door opened again, and a beautiful young girl came out.'My God！ The old woman has become a young girl,'said the old man.'What a pity I didn't bring my wife！'
